No April Fool’s jokes here! It’s April 1st, spring is in full swing, and it’s time to get your life organized, right? I know all about that here… it’s been such a busy, crazy winter that I’ve really fallen behind on the blog (eek!). But in the spirit of spring renewal (and blog-behind guilt), I’ve decided to start a new series on saving time and money in the kitchen. After all, so many of us are struggling financially that keeping the family fed from day-to-day is more important than cooking up the perfect (read: expensive) piece of roasted lamb.

Starting tomorrow, I’m going to be putting up lots of great articles and recipes that will help save you tons of time and money in the kitchen. How? With the freezer and the crockpot, of course! The articles will include helpful hints, like crockpot basics or using pantry staples to put together an inexpensive crockpot meal, along with general ways to save money in the kitchen and easy freezer recipes.

There’s a time for going all-out, and there’s a time for saving money in the kitchen. Well, this time is the latter– so let’s get started.
